Our little piece of Australia

For those of you who don't know, the Desert Rat and I bought a small farm at the start of this year. It is located at Avenue Range in South Australia (between Naracoorte and Kingston). It is approximately 330 acres, with just over half of it being good pasture and the other part being heritage scrub (bushland that is part of a bigger block of bush, and is protected against any clearing or development). We lease it to my sister who has about 80 head of cattle grazing there at present. It has been a fanastic winter with lots and lots of rain, so there is loads of feed on there at the moment. The Desert Rat and I only saw it for the first time in July and were taken back firstly about how big it is as well as how beautiful the country is there. These are some photos from our farm, which we have named Bearnaraigh after the Hebridian Island.
