A Lovely Lady

On a clear, crisp winter's day we decided to catch a ferry out to see The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. So did several thousand other people but after lining up for a while we eventually got on the boat for the short trip out to Liberty Island.

The next stop on the ferry was Ellis Island, which is where they used to process all the migrants coming to America. These days the buildings remain as a museum and a memorial to all those who passed through it's doors. But first, it was lunch. We wanted a true New York experience of having a hot dog, an when they asked whether we wanted chilli and cheese on it, we presumed that we would get a lttle chilli sauce and some grated cheese on the hot dog - how wrong we were!
